Not sure if this counts as 'green fingered', it does I suppose from an ecological perspective as it's mainly dug from my back garden!

This weekend my friends came over and we rebuilt my experimental earth oven (made from instructions from Kiko Denzers excellent book) and put a proper roof over it (I have discovered this morning the roof leaks like a sieve, so that's next weekends project sorted)

My friend Tiff Heaver did the art - though I did smooth the shell for her! It's not finished yet, we'll be covering it in a lime render and we've ordered some nice dragon eyes from an ebay taxidermy store.

Every part of me aches, but I'm looking forward to some nice homebaked pizza and sourdough.

Hopefully it won't catch fire like the last did!

That looks really good. I've wanted to build one, and now I want (NEED) one with a dragon for a chimney. Unfortunately, I am artistically challenged, and don't have a Tiff!

More photos, please... front view, please? (OK, looked at link, more photos there!)

If you're in the South East I'm sure she does reasonable rates - though she does come with her 6 month daughter in tow (who was very patient!)

Great project and execution. Well done. :T

PS. Around here, anything made of cob is listed Grade 2. You have been warned! ;)

Ha! I can't imagine that's a planning rule! Modern stuff can't be protected...
