AMEX Cashback Card Application

Hi There,

A very quick and easy question. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the AMEX card from application? Going to make a significant purchase in a week or so and the 5% cashback would be helpful, but if the card takes a couple of weeks to come through, it may not be worth applying.

Probably 7-10 days. I'd say it'd still be worth applying, the 5% is only on £2k over three months, fairly easy to spend on day to day expenditure (circumstances depending I suppose).

All depends if you get an instant decision or if you are referred. To maximise your chances of an instant decision you should apply during office hours as after a certain time in the evening, the CRAs databases are shut down to update meaning an automatic referral.
