Any ideas please? My machine runs well for about 3 hours. After that time my browser crashes, will not reopen or indeed will not allow me to open any progs without a reboot. Using XP.

Try cleaning the cooling fans on the CPU, video card and any others in there.
The power supply tends to be a sealed box. That said, if it's XP it is probably not new. Try opening it up and cleaning that too.
