The area is Hull, East Yorkshire. The prices are much unchanged since 2005. Been up and down +/- 5% maybe but I just did an average detached property trend and it showed 182K in 2005 vs 181K average price now.0

So, we offered 205k. EA called back and said that they wouldn't consider coming down from 225k. When I told her that we would leave it she then asked if we would move upwards at all so obviously the first statement was not the whole truth.
So, we said we were going to leave the offer on the table and look at some other properties. This was Thursday. So, we had a look at 2 more today, but we still like the one we offered on so going to up our offer tomorrow. But not sure how to tackle it. Do we go in with our maximum 215k now or do we go up in steps until they deal (or don't deal!)0 -
So, a little update - we went in with 215k on Saturday. They then came down to 220k. We put a little pressure on by arranging a viewing at another property then went back today with an offer at 217.5k and they accepted! So we're happy. We had to go 2.5k above our "maximum" but I was pleasantly surprised when looking at sold prices again it went for 239,950k in 2005 (I was wrong before when I'd said 205k) so I reckon we got it for a good price!0
