Last minute package holiday... help!

hi,

I apologise if this has been answered elsewhere I have looked through the first few pages of posts...

I wondered if anyone had any up to date reccomendations on booking a last minute package holiday to the sun?

We have booked independent holidays for the past few years so it has been a while since I have browsed this market and things seem to have really changed. I am seeing great prices online but as soon as you call them to book they almost double! I know there are more fuel charges etc these days but this seems crazy! It's so frustrating!

If anyone could give me any ideas I would really appreciate it. Have already spent hours and hours looking- didn't think it would be so time consuming!!

We're really just looking for one week in the sun, mid-June, not Turkey or Eygypt. Would like a reasonable room/apartment, any board basis, somewhere with a bit of nightlife - we're a couple in our late twenties.

Thanks in advance for any help! Can't wait to find something so I can head off and buy a new bikini!! ( oh and start the pre holiday diet!!) :j

Just booked B&B at the Pomorie Hotel, Bulgaria dep 8 June from Edinburgh for 10 days £331.15 for 2 people including all charges.
http://www.balkanholidays.co.uk/bulgaria_summer_beach/s07/summer_late_deals.htm plenty of 7 day hols from other departure airports available.

There were what looked like cheaper options for apartments but by the time they added occupancy charges they were more expensive, it all depends on numbers travelling as to which is best for you.

    Thanks for the replies.

WillieL- sorry to be fussy, don't really fancy Bulgaria and Sloppychops, I've posted separately with dates etc.. I think you may have already responded- these deals from mytravel seem great- we have tried their site but found it very hard to navigate- seems you can only search one desination at a time?

I Too have been many hours searching through many sites to find a cheap holiday in Portugal. At first the price for room only and flights were anywhere between £1100- £1200 for a ten night holiday .I have now got it down to just over £1000 for the two of us includind transfer to the resort. Please check out ALPHA ROOMS for accomodation only and TRAVEL JUNGLE for your flights. the cheapest flight i found was with with NO FRILLS.Also with alpha rooms you have the option of booking your transfer direct.Happy Searching.

Alpha Rooms is by no means one of the cheapest places to find accom or transfers.
Med Hotels and Travelrepublic have much better deals and also have promo codes that can be used as well.

    For flights try https://www.skyscanner.co.uk https://www.travelsupermarket.co.uk and https://www.xl.com

For transfers try https://www.a2btransfers.com or https://www.travelrepublic.co.uk (under holiday extras) or https://www.shuttledirect.com

Travel republic are also good for late deals. If you select a place you would like to go it brings up a list of flights to that place and the price, once you have selected the flight you want it then takes you too a page with all the accomodation available for those dates with a price for the accomodation so you know exactly what you are paying. We booked with them a few months ago to go to sharm el sheikh, but had a look yesterday they had some fantastic prices for late deals. We could have gone to florida for £1200 for the five of us. Also mexico came up quite cheap flights were £99 return. I'll know for future!
