Bicester North Station - PCN

Hi all,
I got a PCN notice on Friday when returning to my car at Bicester North Station. I park there during the week (I work in London) and spend £100+ a month for the privilege.
On Monday morning I arrived and placed my monthly pass in the windscreen and left the car for the week. On Friday, I got a PCN. My parking pass had slipped off the dashboard and onto the floor.
The PCN itself is dated for Friday. I'm considering appealing, on the basis that the car had been parked in the same location without being moved for the previous four days with the monthly pass clearly visible, and therefore the parking attendants should have been aware that the car had a valid permit.
Anyone think this has a chance for succeeding? If not, I might go down the route of ignoring all of the subsequent threatening letters just to see if they actually want to take me to court....

Can you tell us who issued this ticket? And wether it mentions anything about bylaws. We can't advise further until we know thisWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

It's issued by MET Parking Services, and the ticket doesn't mention anything about bylaws.0

These grounds alone won't work, I suggest. There could have been a different attendant on duty on Friday.
The point is that you have a valid ticket to park. You could try an appeal to them direct - you need to do this before POPLA any way - enclosing a copy of your parking ticket and saying something along the lines that you parked there all week as you were resident in London till Friday.
Your ticket was dated Friday and, clearly it had slipped or was knocked off during the week as, had it not been there on the Monday, you would have received a ticket on the Monday possibly followed by a ticket each day starting with the Monday. To imply otherwise, would be casting aspersions about the diligence of the wardens on duty during the week, would it not?
Subtle difference, but who knows, it might cut some ice.0 -
I wouldn't admit anything, just say you parked there all week, and were given a fake ticket on your last day. Don't say what you think happened, when they reject you go to popla the independent appeals. So make sure you ask for the popla verification code on your challenge to themWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Neither approach is right IMHO.
If you get a fake PCN on your windscreen, the current advice is to WAIT for the first letter to the registered keeper as long as that's you or your relative ( only if it's a company or hire car should you write now).
THEN when you get the Notice to Keeper - keep the envelope if it's posted on a different date than the Notice date - and only then do you challenge it (having spent the 4 weeks between now and then, reading a bit on the sort of challenge to send). The challenge should be written in the third person - not saying who the driver is - and just saying 'the driver had a permit and it was displayed all week without incident. I can confirm that the car was not moved as the driver was away working in London, so as registered keeper I have no idea why the permit was apparently not on view on Friday. However I attach a copy of the permit for this car and expect the issue will now be closed'.
The reason for waiting for the NTK is because they often miss their deadline or word the NTK wrongly; giving you more grounds for successful appeal when it comes to wording the POPLA stage challenge. DO NOT repeat the usual sort of appeal for POPLA, come back for advice when you are drafting that, please, as there are ways to win at that stage.
I should add that MET have been known to cancel fake PCNs when they see a Permit was held - but still wait for the NTK just to give you more scope for further appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
