Is this the same as PPI?

Depends on what it covers. A marketing name like that could be life assurance or MPPI.
MPPI is a form of PPI but suffers far less of the issues of loan and credit card PPI. It is generally regarded as more important by the FOS because of the debt it covers and the consequences of non payment. Today, it is still one of two PPI types that is still retailed. Whereas most loan and credit card PPI complaints are upheld. With MPPI, most are rejected. You typically need stronger reasons and things like employer sick pay usually wont work.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
