nearly 18 months ago i got a car on what they call ' long term personal contract hire' because i could not get car finance, this is with a firm called 'Hippo Group LTD' it was a no deposit long term contract (4 years contract) i was in a full time job as a bus driver earning over £400 so no problem paying this, the car is £158 per month, then 2 months later i got dismissed from the company due to a blameworthy accident, i had a bit of money saved up so managed keep up payments, but was out of work for 2 months now i have got a job again but eaning only just over £250 a weeka massive drop but im struggling with the car hippo group said ther is nothing i can do as its long term contract and the finance is a 'bubble' finance or something where you pay for 3 years then pay £2000 on the 4th year in FULL how do i get out of this and send this car back

What does your agreement say about cancelling?

Considering you only took this because nobody else would entertain your application, it is very likely you will face significant penalties.
Baffles me why so many people feel a new car is a necessity rather than buy something affordable.

Even if you had kept to the agreement, you would have faced a massive fee if you wanted to keep the car.

The level of your penalty will also depend on the condition, mileage etc.

If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. They can't take more money than you have.
Time to dig your agreement out, you did keep your copy of it right?
