Creative Hinckley’s
East Midlands Young Open Exhibition
Monday 8 July - Friday 2 August 2013
Seeking all young artists!
This summer is the launch of an exciting new exhibition opportunity for aspiring young artists. The East Midlands Young Artists Open is an exhibition to be held at Creative Hinckley’s Gallery in Leicestershire. Since its opening 2 years ago the gallery has staged a series of high profile exhibitions by artists from around the world. The East Midlands Young Artists Open will be a show case of some of our best young creative talents from around the East Midlands Region
Creative Hinckley and Charnwood Arts are the organising partners for this high profile project - their combined experience in the field of arts events will create a dynamic opportunity for young artists to take centre stage.
Last year's event exhibited 39 young artists, bringing them together for an exhibition at The Creative Hinckley Gallery in The Atkins Building.
This year we decided to open up to the whole of The East Midlands. There are 3 age categories from 8 years to 19, with £900 in cash prizes. Prizes this year include a Graphic Prize; being offered by H Squared, a top graphic agency in the area providing a unique opportunity to spend time in a professional studios seeing how the industry works.
Submission of artworks will take place 10_16 June 2013. Works may be submitted at different collection centres all over the East Midlands and can be found here

together with all terms and conditions. The theme is completely open so work can incorporate any projects that students are working on at school or personal work made at home.
“This experience, all thanks to Creative Hinckley at the Atkins building, has opened up new opportunities to me and really boosted my confidence in the world of art. My advice to other students would be don't be scared to be a bit eccentric with your ideas. I would say I have learnt that hard work pays off.” Georgie French, Prize Winner in the Young Open 2011.
Please spread the word about this great opportunity for young artists in the East Midlands.
Creative Hinckley have also been working hard to engage sponsors for this event and have already secured help from; The Hinckley and Rugby Building Society, hsquaredlimited, Charnwood Arts, Mattioli Woods Plc, Croners, Seal Elastics, Specsavers Hinckley and The Advertiser Monthly. If you are a business or individual wishing to help youngsters become our next generation of budding artists then please contact info@creativehinckley.co.uk
