Liquids restrictions and purchasing toiletries after security clearance

Morning all. I'm off on holidays next week and we have decided to do only carry on/cabin luggage only. That of course mesns that i can only take up to 10 x 100ml toileteries because of the liquids restrictions. I'm fine with the basics as you can get miniatures which suffice for a week but my concern was with sun tan lotion, after sun etc as I've been told they are twice the price in Mykonos. But then someone suggested I could by them at the (UK) airport after clearing security?

Hadn't even thought of that. I'm assuming as long as I can get them into my hand/canbin luggage before boarding (going on the assumption that Easyjet won't let me have hand luggage and a carry bag of goodies from the shops at the airport?) then I'm okay? Anyone else done this?

    Yes, you can do this.
I always buy my mouthwash at the airport even though I pay for hold luggage as I don't want to risk it leaking out into my clothes :D

    Have a good holiday

Yes, that'll be fine. Sometimes the airline will allow you to take on board an extra bag of purchases made in the terminal but it seems a bit random and it's best to assume that you'll need to leave room in your carry on bag.

You just won't be able to bring the leftovers home again.

Thanks both, okay sounds like a plan. BTW, does anyone know if Boots (Luton or any of the airports I guess) still do offers including 3 for 2 type thingy on travel sizes at the airport stores? I actually have 2 lots of new suntan lotion (2 different spf's) and aftersun purchased several months ago and realised it would make financial sense (even if it is annoying to do) to divide these in 100ml bottles (all are 200ml so that'll be 6 of the 10 I can take) and then get whatever other toiletries I need after I've exceeded my 'liquid' limit from Boots at the airport.

Thats fine, in the past I've often bought things on hols and used toiletries are the first thing I chuck to make room.

I can't be sure that the airport Boots do the travel sizes, but looking at the illustration alongside the Luton branch info they certainly appear to do some of the offers you'd get in other stores (although whether this is actually a picture of Luton airport I don't know).
