    Morning all,

Think I've overdone it and in agony with my leg so today will be mainly sitting with it up:eek:
I've taken Ibrufen and paracetamol so waiting for that to kick in.
Dd stayed last night, chicken pox are driving her mad so covered her in calamine before bed, I quite enjoyed it, it was like she was a little girl again and not 26 !
DGS will be dropped off shortly he has been at daddies so no doubt he will cause havoc.
Ds3 is still in bed, no surprise there.
Dh went off to work about half eight and hopefully will be back for dinner time.
Tea will just be a quick salad, if I can hop around the kitchen.
A bit overcast here but no rain yet.

    Enjoy the bank holiday x

  • Good morning everyone :)

Have been to the 3rd boot sale of the weekend, 2 yesterday and 1 early this morning. No brilliant bargains but got a few bits and pieces, including some books I really wanted to read for 20p each in almost new condition.

Sun is still shining at the moment but it's forecast to change so am watching washing on line very carefully. It's blowing nicely at the moment, so should be dry soon.

Garden looks considerably better after a good weeding of the pebbled areas yesterday afternoon. Need DH to do the front as he has a long handled bladed scraper with goes between the paving stones. I am not to be trusted with it as I cut my foot the first and only time I used it :o

Off to steam clean the wood floor in the hall now then have a new runner, another car boot bargain, to put down.

Chicken thighs with lemon and herbs in the slow cooker. Will have new potatoes and peas with that for dinner, with leftovers for salad tomorrow.

DH is 25% through his exam marking and we need to get the first lot in the post tomorrow. I have a few ebay bits to post too so will sort that out first thing.

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all!
Piddling down here, good job there isn't much washing! Have been reading in bed since 5, but the battery on the kindle died, so had to get up! Have sliced up the remains of yesterdays leg of lamb and put it in the freezer, chicken breasts defrosting for tonight. Have to take DS for his physio appointment at lunchtime, and will need to tackle some ironing as the basket has erupted all over the floor! And will do a claims letter for our delayed flight too, hopefully that will bring some money towards another holiday!
    Have a good day all!

Nice day here but a bit breezy so braved breakfast outside and planning lunch in the garden as well. Boiled eggs and soldiers for breakfast and a la leftovers for half of us for lunch with stir fry and a chop for the other half.

BGT is on tonight so might make pizzas to go with the theme.

I am 61 too and trying not to think of it as in my head I feel anywhere from 40 to about 100 ;)

We got a lot of laundry washed and dried outside yesterday and so feel we deserve a quiet relaxing day. DD reckons the stopgap WM we have is shrinking her clothes so think it is time we investigated getting a decent one. I looked at prices online and it is scary how much you can save by just checking different sites. It is even scarier how much more expensive it is if you do not shop around

Experimenting with bulgar wheat as it is supposed to be healthy so adding peppers and mushrooms and making a lunch for dd to take to work tomorrow.

Hug to all who could use one especially Lame Wolf.

Moorhen - We used to have a dog but she died 3 years ago. I have toyed with the idea of getting another but have decided that I am not in enough!
I work school hours and then some evenings and DD leaves home at 7.30am and doesn't get in till 7 so it really wouldn't be fair. We do 'borrow' a friend's dog sometimes.

I have hoovered all round and fixed the blinds that the dog took apart while he was chasing rabbits from inside the house! I have also re-painted a doorway as we have a slope from the hall to the kitchen and one of our visitors slid and fell and spilled a glass of red wine all down the doorway!! I think his pride was a little dented and has a bruise on his behind!

Not getting dressed today as the weather is grim and I'm not going anywhere anyway.

    Take care. XX

A neighbour has just knocked on the door & offered us an unwanted water butt, hubby went to collect is, we're very pleased, we've been saying for a while that another on would be useful.

Not sure why you YOUNG ones of 61 are complaining about...wait until you get to 68!

its been a rather pleasant weekend here weatherwise, no bank holiday to-day, next weekend is it....not doing anything so not too fussed, garden needs time that I don't seem to be giving it, so long weekend will be deadline!

Dinner today is chicken, chips and whatever veg I can find that will take a few minutes. Need to cook 2 salmon steaks too which bro gave me, they were frozen so can't wait any longer....they will be nice with some salad and potato salad to-morrow.

Hugs to all in need or want of some, stay safe and well

I don't mind being 61, it's working full time with another 7 years to go that wears me down.
Mind you, hubby's just put Joe Jackson cd on, that's enough to cheer me up.
