This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all
Sunny here & no rain forecast 'til 4ish, so another day of pottering in the garden I think.
WM on, fish fed & hubby has a cuppa in bed.
2 of my grandchildren have announced their decision to marry each other, they are 5 & 7, so I won't be buying a hat just yet.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Windy and chilly at the moment here,

Well it was a lovely warm and sunny day here yesterday :j:j

Today's forecast is for a cooler day with sun and maybe some showers coming In later.

I ended up quite busy In the end yesterday, while the Girls were off out at there dancing In ended up Mowing the Grass and cleaning both lots of hens out.
I also got some reading done On the afternoon too. So it was not all work and no play, I needed the sit down and rest by the time I had finished The Jobs that I did! Still sometimes its good to push yourself a bit, This morning My back and shoulders and my arms hurt! but Not too much,

Today, The only real plan is too go out for another family meal. This time with my Wife's Mum and dad. My Wife's sister and her boyfriend.
Not sure were we are going, For the time. But I believe it will be around tea time tonight.

A Few little Jobs Ins the Garden are too be done again today With a bot a luck. Not heavy big Jobs like mowing! Glad that's done!

I really need to get my pea nets up today! Yes Iv still not done that. Iv only been talking about it for three weeks now!:D
Iv got sugar snap peas ready to plant out and grow up the nets. So I might get that done today.

No work for my wife today, And the Twins are here all day too, I think my wife wont's tp get some baking done. So the girls might be helping with some of that. they really like to have ago at cooking/baking. They also enjoy having a go at a bit of gardening so I will find them a couple of little Jobs to do outside,
I might get them to plant some more french claiming beans.

Well I hope that you all enjoy your bank holiday Monday!

    Enjoy :j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

Another 61 year old, who 's body is showing its age this morning. The Community BBQ/Street Party, went off really well. We did not drag it out too late, as by 10am I will be taking the Annual Meeting, but when I got to bed last night, my legs were really a hung, not to mention my back. Never mind onwards & upwards.

    ((Hugs)) all round. DG

    Hi, everyone.

I know it's bank holiday Monday, but but at the moment the thread reads Sunday 27th. But there's a Sunday vibe going on, so it's understandable!

This is most unlike me to post quite so early.

But we had a bit of a kerfuffle with Internet access last night, so we've rebooted the modem this morning. The iPad and my kindle is working again, and I haven't got the computer on yet, but I'm guessing that's ok too.

I'm currently in bed, posting this on my iPad.

I've never been one for reading in bed. I like to sleep (as late as I can) and then get up. But I really like sitting here in bed, surfing the Internet. I might make a habit of it!

Anyway, general plans today are to go out to M&S to buy a few more holiday clothes. We have 20% off vouchers to use.

After that, DH may paint a bit more of the fence, as it is a sunny morning. I'll get some washing on the line, and I'll probably clean and tidy the kitchen. But I'll do the rest of my normal Monday housework tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well, and have a good bank holiday

    Morning all,

Bright sunshine here atm, but the sky is looking very black over yonder, hope we have a good day before the rain comes.

Had a lovely long walk yesterday, walked for about 4 hours and covered some miles, it was really nice to feel the sun, we say a beautiful slow worm basking in the sun too.

Need to drop the car off this morning at 9 for its mot and service, fingers crossed it passes, £500 this week its cost me  really dont have any more money !

DD has a reare day off today, so we wont be doing much, there is an antiques fair just up the road so might have a look at that.

    Have good days all xx

I'm up earlier today than yesterday.

hester congratulations! Everyone loves a good wedding. Are they siblings or cousins? :rotfl:

My garage of doom is finally complete. It's all clear and re organised. There is a nice area cleared out for a freezer. I just need to save for that now. This month is quite tight financially.

No major plans today and we are eating leftovers out of the freezer today. We will all have something different!

Just got to pack the bags for our London trip tomorrow :j so excited. V&A, the zoo, a bit of shopping and sightseeing too. I hope it doesn't rain too much.

Good Morning chums and a beautiful sunny day here in Kent.I woke with a tickly throat and a bit of a sniffle ,but I shall dose myself up and hopefully get rid of it before it developes too much.Far too much to do to be going down with a cold :):)
I'm not too sure what I'll be doing this morning I am hoping to get the ironing out of the way first (only a small bit so it shouldn't take too long) then possibly make some more bicuits as DD and dgd took what I made yesterday home with them and I'm pretty sure I shall be out with the boys and youngest DD tomorrow .She has the week off as she has some days to use up before July when the new holiday accruement starts.I shall definitely be out all day on Wednesday as I'm off to Lakeside for the day.So if I can get as much done today as I can I can go out to play for the rest of the week :):)
Hope everyone will see a bit of sun today ,but I know the good weather isn't countrywide.
Have a great day whatever you are doing
    Cheers chums

TYTG, cousins, sort of but one of them is long term fostered, by DD1.
Goldie, Arrgh, sorry about that I've altered it now, I'm really not to be trusted starting the daily.

Pouring down here! Been reading some days but not had time to post, we have had visitors from the highlands, the weather was fab (I have a burnt face!) and we walked a lot, up hills, by lochs, golf courses and it was brilliant. I must make an effort to walk more but I feel like a bit of a twit walking by myself with no dog - they have a dog which makes it more fun. We did meet lots of folk on their own so I really need to get over myself and go!

I have the cold from hell, sore throat, bunged up nose that is now running like a burn and a stuffy head but I think all the fresh air has helped. Having a relaxing day today, need to strip their bed and have a hoover round. DD off to work at 10.

HH - Looking forward to the wedding!

Tenyears - Well done on the garage clearing!

Off to read the last few days news. Take care. XX
