Where can I get leaf mould?

Go to the forest with a bag. Collect surface soil (leaf mould) and go home.0

I'm planting out my tree frern this weekend and guides recommend planting it with leaf mould but I can't find it at my local garden centres/diy sheds. Any advice? Thanks
This is sometiing that many gardeners make themselves. Do you know anyone that may have made some last autumn that you could ask? (neighbours relatives etc?)
I'm trying to think what you could use as an alternative - you would be looking for something I guess that is not too nutrient rich..... what is a 'mulch and mix' made from ..... I'm sure I have seen something of that name at the garden centre... I imagine it would be suitable, but then I don't know much about tree ferns, I'm a veg girl myself!

Personally I can't see the need for leaf mould, have 4 tree ferns myself and plant them straight into the ground, its the top 12 inches or so that are actually 'alive' the rest is 'dead'.
Good luck.0 -
I agree with the last post, planted mine with plain vanilla compost and it looks superb0
