I'm looking for work I think I'd cope with (it's no guarantee though, I still don't have the energy for basic things pretty much every day but I'm hoping a job will kick start me into getting better where everything else has failed... I've joined the gym to combat the constant fatigue I've suffered from over the past few years amongst other things, I pray it works).

How long will it take to get the results and if I fail what happens then? Until I get my first job and try it out I can't possibly know that I will cope and won't be able to afford rent on JSA either. Reality is very different to how I see things in my head.

It can be anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months to hear from DWP after your face-to-face assessment (I won't dignify it with the name 'medical').

If you fail the WCA and are found fit for work you can appeal. As long as you continue to supply fit notes (sick notes, certificates) from your GP you will be paid the ESA assessment rate until 365 days have passed in total or your appeal is heard and decided in your favour - whichever is sooner.

How long after the medical assessment until you get a copy of the report? Can you phone within a day or two?

OH has his on Friday and I already know exactly what the "HCP" will write, it is always the same:(

It is sent electronically - you can usually request a copy within a couple of days.

I phoned a few days later and requested it, was told fine but it might take a week or two.

A month later I phoned back to be told (incorrectly) that I couldn't have it unless I was appealing a decision.

Then sent a snotty letter (couldn't afford another 30+ min 0845 call!) and finally they sent the copy of it out.

That's terrible:eek::eek: I thought they had to provide you with a copy if asked to do so.

I am dreading Friday, the whole thing is just so exhausting and they don't seem to take anything on board that you say.

So have decided this time to just and give one word answers because the HCP only seems interested in sticking to the computer program. I have to speak for my OH because he can't talk:(

My OH has to go into hospital again next week for another operation, but I doubt if that will be of any interest to Atos:( Will just get the usual will be fit for work in a couple of months with the right treatment - only problem is that there isn't any treatment that will fix him.
