Thanks

Depends what you're after and where from.

4x4 - summer rather than winter
convertible - winter rather than summer
if you're buying second hand from a dealer - possibly the end of the month when they might be low on targets

    Depends on the car.

    4x4 March/April
    Cabriolet November.

Generally, during major holiday periods, as the competition are away, and January when people have less cash following Christmas bills.

There used to be a good time around new car registration when the market was awash with second hand cars, but this happens less now, and people try and take advantage of this, and push prices up.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

For a normal car (ie not a 4x4), the auction prices are lowest in November. They often rise by about 5% in January.

Prices start to rise in December as dealers stock ready for January.

If buying from a dealer, I would say the second half of November. He knows that he's not going to get much footfall in December, and keeping the car in stock until January just costs him money.

Always towards the end of Decemeber for me...people are skint after Xmas and know everyone else is, so they're only selling because they need it gone.
