Dalmatian farts...help!! how can I stop these??!!

My mate has a gorgeous 7 month old Dalmatian puppy, he's lovely but a total nutcase. And he farts ALL of the time. Not only that they really seem to smell bad.
We've tried charcoal biscuits but they haven't seemed to do anything apart from turn his poo black (lol), this was advice from the vet section in our local Pets At Home store. They also advised us to avoid feeding him beef or chicken flavour food. We buy him James Wellbeloved food so he's currently eating fish, duck or occasionally lamb flavour kibble, but its not making any difference to the adorable but stinky pooch _pale_
Any suggestions on how to freshen up the dog's bottom would be gratefully appreciated!!!

Natural Yogurt.
My mum's dog get chronic farts when he's not been given natural yogurt. A couple a tablespoons a day calms the smell (but not necessarily the wind)Fat and proud lol0 -
Asked a friend who's dog we named Windy what she used as she has almost cured her dog from it
She said the following tried, tested, work well
Raising dogs bowl from floor, helping them digest it better without excess wind prevents the food tract being pulled to an odd angle which prevents the ingestion or indigestion of air causing a build-up of wind
Products tried & helped

Tried and tested many dogs foods, they found Wagg was the best, even states on the label about gassy issues. One day I might be more organised...........

Hi there,
I'd echo Lil_me's suggestion of raising the bowl - I feed one of my doberman's on the second step of the stairs. I also feed smaller meals at more frequent intervals. It seems to help but hasn't eliminated it all - but I think it has a lot to do with my dogs eating grass - they graze like cows!

We found that the dog food had too much vegetable protene in it. We switched to the BARF diet and It has worked wonders and it is cheep too. (Biologically Apropriant Raw Food = BARF)

Please, please do not change your puppy to Wagg, it is the worst dog food out there, it contains very little nutritional value and I very much doubt it will correct your wind problem!
Generally with this problem I would recommend changing food but JWB is a very good food, although I notice you change flavour? My 2 7 month old pups are fed on Wainwrights puppy food (similar to JWB) Turkey and rice gives one really bad wind, but the Salmon and potato they are both fine! Just a process of elimination! Also is the dog given many treats? Could have something to do with those maybe?0
