Renting a 1/2bedroom flat

I am planning to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom flat (was originally looking for a 1 bedroom but some of the 2 bedroom ones are cheaper or the same price!!) and have been thinking about what costs I need to plan for:
New costs:
- Rent
- Water
- Electric
- Gas (though a lot seem to have electric heating which is more expensive?)
- Council Tax
- TV License
- Ground rent/maintainence fees (already included in rent maybe?)
- Landline/internet
Costs I already have:
- Groceries
- Car expenses
What else do I need to budget for?
How much can I expect electric/gas to be per month for a small place?

ground rent and maintenance are not your problem unless you buy .Are you renting furnished of not you need to budget for that"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

I rented a new build two bed flat with a power shower. It was about £40 a month for water, £60 for both gas and electric combined, £980 a year council tax, and as the above says maintenance and ground rent should be included.
Mine was furnished apart from the bedroom.
I spent about £200 a month on groceries, cleaning products and laundry products.
You will need to buy a vacuum, iron, ironing board and all your household bits like pots, pans, plates, bedding, towels, plus any home furnishings like pictures, rugs etc but you can do this over time.
I loved my first flat, it was hard leaving home and buying everything I needed but so worth it!
Good luck!0 -
Thanks - managed to sort myself out now0
