Credit Card Clearance Delayed

Hi
I needed to pay off my current card as part of my new mortgage and they need evidence that this has been done. Over the last couple of days, I paid it off using my own funds. I have moved out off my old (sold) house and am in the process of getting ready to buy my next home.

I asked the CC company to send me a letter of proof I had paid off the card, They told me due to the fact a payment could be returned within four days and the info received from the credit reference people they will not send out the letter until the first of June. I am puzzled and a little worried by this although all is above board? Does anyone know why this could be.

Well, that's less than a week away. I'd expect to wait 10-14 days for any document I'd request anyway. To me it seems fairly reasonable.

Thanks but what I couldn't understand was the credit reference agency thing, maybe it's because I have moved from my registered address.........

A screen dump from your online area (assuming you manage it online?) should do the trick?
They told me due to the fact a payment could be returned within four days
As far as I'm aware only direct debits and the old BACS payments could be recalled...not faster payments, which I assume was the payment method?
and the info received from the credit reference people
I too am puzzled by this.
