It's a manual decision.

I got a straight rejection from them.

Not a decline but it means that their computer thinks that you're a borderline case and your application has been referred for a human being to make a decision. In my experience this is normally a good thing although you might have to provide evidence of income, address, identity etc. It's certainly better than a straight refusal.

Not if you had a few cards you wanted to apply for at the same time (to avoid them seeing each others' searches).

Also I'd rather not have to bother with sending in documents.

I had a flat out decline from Aqua I appealed it and it was over turned. I sent them a letter saying they were supposed to be helping people credit build as on their website as I was one of those (evidenced why, what good things are happening, credit limits rising no missed payments, proof of address and I.D photo copies) my limit was £250 and has just got up to £600 5 months later of using it well.

Don't waste a credit search.

Many lenders will ask for documentation, up to you if you want to bother but the credit search has already run so why waste it?

Don't worry I got this message and then received a card with a limit off £1600. Only got the card for reward card.

The limit is the lowest I have but it does the job!

I got this message too -applied for the reward card, and got a letter in the mail two days later, accepting me (no ID required) and providing me for £1600 credit limit, on the reward card, as long as I sign the form.

Card came a couple of weeks later. Have you had any update from Aqua?

I have indeed been accepted, just need to wait for the paperwork, sign and return....

Just give me a half decent limit............

You couldn't make it up, I today have had a letter saying I have been declined... !!!!!!????, rang up and it was confirmed to me!!!

Ouch!

Aqua seem to be quite picky considering they advertise themselves as sub prime lenders.
