Hi all
for everyone living in Bristol and who visit the Hartcliffe retail park often please be aware that as from the 6th June parking eye have got their grubby paws into this site and will be installing their ANPR cameras , the amount of time you can stay has now dropped from 5 hours to 4. No signs have been put up around the car park yet , only a big banner telling you as you drive in.
i can see it now go in the morning to get your diy bits return in the evening to visit pizza hut and a couple of days later a nice little envelope will drop through the door requiring £70 from you.
would it be worth making a phone call to the local council ref any planning permission for these cameras.
cheers

Also ask if the planning permission created a requirement for free parking for the original 5 hours (not 4)?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thats is if there is/are any restrictions on parking there at all.
A popla appeal on the grounds that the ppc is in breach of planning would be a good one to try, wonder what shona would do?From the Plain Language Commission:

Make a complaint to the retailers that , because of the parking eye infestation , you can no longer afford to shop there!
It always amazes me why they allow PPCs To infest retail parks with shops, restrants ,cinemas ect. You are bound to spend time there if you are using the facilities!0 -
The only people effected are the genuine shoppers and customers of these establishments, I saw this the other day, the figures may not be precise but the principle is there. For every pound you give these scammers that is one less in the tills, where do these retailers prefer your money?

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

update
apologies as the park in question is imperial retail park and not Hartcliffe , anyway after not receiving to date any reply from the landowner ref pe infesting this site a Bristol city council planning officer has at the moment told me the PE WOULD need planning permission to erect the cameras on poles on the site , she is going to check with a manager and go through the original planning application ref any free parking and has confirmed that no application has been made to erect any.
updates to follow keep everything crossed !!0 -
Is this the place? http://savills.completelyretail.co.uk/index.php?p=viewScheme&id=2237From the Plain Language Commission:

yes half way that is the site i also had this reply from the council ref conditions to free parking
Having spoken to the planning officer who has previously dealt with the Imperial Park applications, he doesn’t think that it is likely that we would have included a condition on restricting the hours of car parking.
As discussed, this would be checked for any future planning application for the introduction of CCTV pole mounted parking cameras. You can also look through previous planning applications online via www.bristol.gov.uk if you wish.
so does this mean that PE cannot limit you to the amount of time you can spend there ??0 -

Cheers half way interesting !! just had this email from the council
Best people to speak to about this would be the enforcement officers once the development has gone ahead. They would be able to check what has been put up, and whether it requires permission. If it does, and there is no application they will then take action.
If you call the usual planning number and say that you think you need to make a complaint .
so i will sit tight until next week and as soon as they are up i will be straight on the phone to the council0 -
and then mention the cameras at aldi in Bedminster Bristol0
