Completed property Nov 30th - Land registry still not updated

Hi All,
Just wondering how long it should take the land registry to update the deeds? I've just repurchased the deeds via landregistry.gov.uk and they are still showing as the previous owner.
I completed on the property on Nov 30th 2012 so it seems odd that it's still not been updated - is it something I should be nudging about or not worth worrying over?

Nudge.
Do you have a mortgage? If so, your solicitor should also have acted for the lender, so a phone call to the lender could give your solicitor a double nudge.
While you are nudging, check your solicitor paid the stamp duty (if relevant).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for the advice silvercar.
Stamp duty doesn't apply but I was thinking 6 months was a long time for this to be actioned, I only checked out of curiousity but to be honest the service from the solicitor left a lot to be desired from start to finish so I shouldn't be too suprised.0 -
Hi.completed aug 2010 ,,Land registry still has not updated....Not bothered..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
If stamp duty didn't apply due to the purchase being under the threshold then a SDLT return still needs to be made.
If it didn't apply due to some other reason then ignore what I said above.0 -
Where are you checking? If it's the online sites like zoopla, RM etc, then most of them have gaping holes in. Some houses only appear on some of those sites.
I completed a year ago, it's not showing. Lots don't, for various reasons.0 -
I assume you have checked direct with the Land Registry (£3)?
It generally takes them around 2-3 days from receipt of the TR1.
Did you do your own conveyancing? Did you send them the TR1?
If you used a solicitor, have you asked him when he sent the TR1?0 -
Hi,
Yes it was the land registry (£3 download fee).
Will check with solicitor however I did pay a £200.00 land registry fee on my solicitors invoice.0 -
As G_M states once the application is received then it should only take 2 to 3 days to complete registration and confirmation received by your solicitor - providing everything is in order of course.
Whilst all solicitors will vary as to how soon after after the purchase has all gone through that they apply to have the Transfer registered this should only range from between 2 to 6 weeks in my experience. 6 months is far too long so best to check with them as to why the register remains unchanged. There could be a very simple reason.
geoffky - whilst not being registered as the owner may not be too much of an issue now as and when you come to sell, mortgage or lease it then trying to resolve it some years later may well be more of a problem simply because whoever dealt with the purchase is no longer practicing or has no records etc.“Official Company Representative
