Primera P12 2.2 dci

Hi guys I have a primera p12 on 115- 120k, it loses power limp mode on occasions with engine warning message on centre console. been diagnosed as FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR on the fault code reader.

any advice on costs parts and labour, has anyone has this problem on their primera, is it a simple replace and the problem is solved any advice will be appreciated

    Change the fuel filter first.

    Then start looking at something called the Scavenge Control Valve (which I guess is just a big name for a blow off valve)

    TBH, you are best off googling the Primera Owners Club where they will advise you much better than we can, most likely it is free to join.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    Try renault-forums.co.uk as the 2.2dCi is a Renault engine

    No, it's a YD22 Nissan engine.

    Same as the X-Trail of that period.

    The use of 'DCi' terminology misleads people into thinking it it a Renault-derived engine.

    hi will replacing the SCV suction control valve and doing the reset definitely solve the problem thanks

    If it is the problem, then obviously it will fix it ;)

    Best off asking the mechanic who has actually seen the car, I'd be more inclined to trust him than someone a hundred miles away tapping a keyboard.

    I did a quick google for it, and you have to change it from above the engine by removing the scuttle panel.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    hi so ive put the scv in and done the reset, what advice would you have for this not to go again, ive just bought some redex cleaner will this help every few months also whats advised to change on a p12 every 6 months do about 10k a year

    Get a proper service done every year. and an oil change every 6 months. It should run forever.

    Red-ex was probably a waste of money. A thimble full of that in a tank of fuel every few months will do very little if anything in my opinion.

    Soak parts in a neat bath of it and they may come out cleaner.
