How to read old posts on a lengthy blog

I am trying to read http://gizmodo.com/
It's a long list of individual items. Problem is I want to go back several months, and look at every article. I can keep clicking on 'More Stories', but after a while, it grows so big that my browser crashes. Can anyone offer a way to jump back one month, and start from there?
Thanks

If you look at the top of your screen at the browser bar it will have a page number, change this and it will jump to an older page

    Ie
    http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/page/2/

    Change to

    http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/page/20/
  • Thanks Wi88le, but that's the UK version. Doesn't work on Gizmodo.com
    Try going to us.gizmodo.com

Just use the archive urls, eg:

    http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/01 - January 2013
    http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/02 - February 2013
    http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/11 - November 2012
  • Thanks Gunstar, but that's the UK version. Doesn't work on Gizmodo.com

  • The short answer is "no". The US version of Gawker's empire - which includes Gizmodo - was recently overhauled to introduce infinite scrolling. The UK Gizmodo seems to be an arm's length subsidiary run by Future Publishing, and I'm guessing that they either have their own platform, or they haven't completed the transition yet.

If you Google "hate infinite scrolling" you'll find that the technique is not universally adored. Apart from crashing browsers it also makes it hard to return to the point you left off. On the other hand it works well with tablets, and on a fundamental level Gawker wants traffic to the top stories now, not something from a week ago. The stories exist to get hits, you're not supposed to read them.

You'd assume that either their scripts or your browser is doing some clever memory management in the background, although it could be that they just assume everybody is now running a 64-bit OS with 16GB memory minimum.

Try the search option in the top right corner eg "jan 2013", gave me some results.
