I reckon you won't become a millionaire, and keep being one, by keeping the odd £500K lying about on a current account.

If I win the lottery (current top prize is £6,000,000), then sure I might make some investments, buy some more property, nice car, etc, but I think I'd have more than 500K in cash for quite a while.

If I open up the 123 account and use the switcher service will they just transfer everything over or do I get to choose what they switch over?

Will my Current account with Halifax be closed? hopefully not. I always thought that you had to get your salary paid into a current account. I get my student loan paid into by Halifax Current account so I guess I couldn't get that paid into the 123 account as that may alert them that I am a student.

Maybe I could even do that pinging thing between the accounts to get the £5 pm interest from Halifax. first thing first I better set up a Halifax Reward current account I guess.

The switcher service is all or nothing, i.e. you can't selectively choose which DDs to move. You can just do them yourself manually if you wish.
