PPI claims

When did ppi stop being sold.
Also can a claim be made on car insurance?

    When did ppi stop being sold.

    It hasn't been stopped. What has happened is most, if not all, non-advice distribution channels have pulled out leaving it only available on advised distribution (which hasnt seen any real scale of problems - just 0.2% of PPI complaints are adviser cases and most get rejected).
    Also can a claim be made on car insurance?

    If you have suffered a claimable event then yes you can claim on it. However, any claim may affect your no claims discount and you have to consider if its cheaper to not claim.
