Tesco Customer Service just told me that they couldn't refund any short dated food even if it wasn't fit to eat - the reason given was "thats why it was reduced in the first place, all we can do is offer you our apologies."

No problem - I'll email Philip Clarke and quote what you said and see if he will apologise too. Gift card now enroute. Would have returned it to the store today but wanted a NSD as thought it was going to be nice and sunny.

Hello, I'm back again (briefly) - so I can stop rushing around now with offers in S ending soon:o. I've cut it fine though, not only with time of shopping, but my A didn't have one of the items I wanted, so that bought my purchase down from 10 to 9 different items, and then I must remember the Smarties Cones don't count so it's on 8 items:eek:. They will hopefully compare though as the 8 there haven't been known to be risky before today. Just over 1 and a half hours to go... for them to disappear off MSM and the APG suddenly.

Thanks for this - I can see why you bought those Maggis:). The last three of them to be checked now to see if they really aren't available in A - and, if so, substantive Tvs S but not so good now without MOCs!!:(

My sada was delightfully untidy today but sadly no APGS

A few items cheaper in sada than tosco from the last couple of days, useful if you have helping hands to use.

    1 x Nestle Cheerios (600g)
    £2.00
    £3.19
    1 x Tetley Tea Bags (160 per pack - 500g)
    £3.00
    £4.30
    1 x Kellogg's Rice Krispies Squares Chewy Marshmallow ...
    £1.00
    £1.99
1 x Nestle Munch Bunch Jelly Delight - Strawberry (4x8...
    £1.00
    £1.69
    1 x ASDA Desiree Potatoes (2.5Kg)
    £2.00
    £2.50
    1 x ASDA Garlic Loose
    £0.30
    £0.47
1x ASDA Butcher's Selection Chicken Breast Fillets (4...
    £4.50
    £4.59
    1 x Hipp Organic Tender Carrots & Potatoes 4mth+ (125g...
    £0.65
    £0.78

Thanks for all these suggestions - items to consider for my lists. The B.S. Chicken Breast Fillets though still Avs T as not 10% (but will probably be a better comp Avs S???, and multis might be cheaper - and even cheaper if you find a trigger). Bang!:D One to shoot Savvy with so he doesn't keep going on and on and adding confusion and mixing around.

Tetley 240s Avs T probably better price per g than Tvs A on 160.
Cheerios a bit too dear for my liking though - waiting for T or M to reduce price to £1.34 on those:D.

No it was steak - which when you took it out of the packet was all fat underneath, looked as though the fat bit had been added to make up the weight. Got another steak at the same time and that was fine.

It was just their inane excuse for not giving a refund - that made me  Still got a gift card which will go nicely with the HH coupon for next weeks shop.:)
