Thank goodness its the weekend, and I'm about to finish work... its been a bit of a week...

DD1 went for a job on Monday and was offered it on the spot, 6k more than she gets now. Handed in her notice next morning and current boss offered to match it, and throw in a no bills flat so she will have no travelling expenses (currently she's back at mine cos of debt). So negotiations ongoing but looks good.

DD2's job is at risk, 6 people going for 4 jobs, they were told Wednesday, her partner has only just got a job after losing job at christmas so this is a blow. She's remaining hopeful tho.

Today, OH got an invite to see his new boss. Thought it was to do with the info she'd asked him for this morning and he'd sent over..... to be given a "your job is at risk" letter. 2 posts going, his and another, and roles being amalgamated. Letter stated there are two people in the pool of candidates and you are the 2nd choice :eek::eek: Way to make someone feel valued!! he has a meeting next Wednesday. We spent half an hour going through the new job description, and its 12 points his job, and 3 the other persons! But other person came with the new boss to the firm .....

So i've got a feeling this weekend is not going to be all singing and laughing... (OH is 54 and has been made redundant 4 times before... he loves this job and is devastated after 7 years there).

Sorry to rant. All in all, i've not been to a shop all week except for milk, not had time.

    Truly sorry to hear that

Unfortunately, i know exacly what you're going through :(

    Hope it all works out

Regarding OH's being misery guts I just got mine to move out. I see him most days but when he annoys me he goes to his. Sounds simple but when it happened 5 years ago it was anything but.
Got to go just cooked 1/2 of one of my free gammons for Mum and I . She has put on the potatoes and cabbage ( she is Irish and I wont be eating any cabbage ) and I will just pop the gammon in the oven with a honey and mustard glaze to finish. Cooked in Pepsi Max -YUM YUM!!

Could we have the recipe for this please rose?:)

How are other people cooking their gammon?

Anyone spotted any multibuys instore in A today that are no longer on a.com (for online deliveries tomorrow)? Friday into Saturday is usually a good price-changeover point. If so please let us know the details!

I often find I have to remind them about the £2 goodwill thing, not that I've had that many. And there's some miserable gits at the main A.
Might have a look at the sports mix if they haven't removed the label.
    Tell me about it :rotfl:

He did in the main one, straight up the aisle as you go in on the left but there may be some in the sweet aisle but I did not look.

Thanks for all the support guys. The missus' job is safe but hours have been cut. Phew!

It could bave been so much worse. At least she can look for something else a bit more leisurely now than if she was out the door

It's going to be tight but i know all you clever people (and davemorton :p) will help us save cash wherever possible

Glad to hear that :T You will have to start selling all those 1p chocs you have found for a profit. That should make up a few hours. ;)

Get one as a test - be prepared to have forgotten your card to pay.

Hide the others first, in case they work and you get trouted, then you can go back for them later :D
