Tenth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
    Evening all :)

Question for the gardeners amongst us.

My seddling nasturtiums were doing very well, onto their 3rd set of leaves.

Yesterday, found a few leaves broken off, and wilting, rest of plant was fine.

Today, more leaves broken off, and 2 plants missing completely!

Now, pretty sure slugs would have left tell tale signs, and eaten the broken off leaves. Snails equally so. No sign of leaves or stems having been munched on.

So, what are the chances birds are pecking off the leaves for some reason?

But not sure why 2 plants have disappeared completely?

    Any ideas folks?

 at my nasturtium damagers

Would you care to share recipe please?

    250g grated cheese
4 slices of bread (white or brown)
3 fresh green chillies (and any other spices you may want to add)
1 egg to dip the balls in
    Breadcrumbs to coat
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Oil for frying

Soak the bread in cold water. Once fully soaked, remove water and squeeze out all excess liquid. Put bread in a large mixing bowl and add the grated cheese (perfect if you can get some of the cheapo grated cheese from Sada). Add the chillies, salt, pepper and any other spices or herb you may wish to add. Mix thoroughly and make into little balls or patties. Dip these in the egg and then coat with the breadcrumbs. Then either shallow fry or deep fry until golden. Serve with a spicy tomato dip / cucumber mint raita or anything that takes your fancy and voila, they will all be gone in no time.

I would post a photo but they have all been gobbled up. Also, you could add anything else to the mixture such as fish, tuna, chicken or even vegetables.
