Sorry to rain on your parade, honey, but as far as I know you will just get 150 points for every £50, so 8 x 150 = 1200 points. You definitely won't get any more for your spend and I don't think your double up will work, someone posted about it unless I'm mistaken. Still, 1200 points not to be sneezed at.

Its still better to get the gift cards than buy in tesco as it would be 800 points instead of 1200.
