55-plate Ford Mondeo key programming
Hi all
I've just replaced the battery in my 3-button keyfob for the above car but the remote part of the lock/unlock/boot-release has stopped working.
I've tried the position 0 to position ii 4 times in six seconds routine and I get the beep (which should say it's in learning mode) but the red LED near the clock doesn't stay on.
Also, after the beep (above) pressing any of the buttons on the fob doesn't elicit any reaction from the car (apparently it should beep to say the code has been received).
I've checked the contacts from the battery compartment to the PCB in the fob and made sure it's making good contact and everything there seems fine.
The key will still open the car without setting the alarm off and it will start the engine OK but I'd like to get the remote part working as well.
This is the second battery I've used so I'm reasonably certain it's not a dud.
I'm open to any suggestions on how to get this to work again.
Thanks in advance.

Thats because you were programming the rfid there (for the immob) not the remote CL - try this matey - havent tried it myself but hopefully it will work. I got this from another website, but can't put the link in here yet.
Infrared Programming Instructions:- Put your key into the ignition and turn to position 1 (Radio). After approximately 10 seconds the red alarm control LED (next to the clock) should illuminate. As soon as it comes on remove the key from the ignition - the LED should remain lit.
- Point the remote's "eye" at one of the front door sensors and press the rear button until the light on the transmitter illuminates (Keep the button pressed)
- With the rear button held in press the front button 4 times then release both at the same time. The control lights in both clock and fob will flash 4 times to indicate programming complete.
- Turn the ignition back on to exit programming mode
Let me know how you get on - good Luck
Edit : Actually after reading up that might be for earlier fords - but it's worth a try fella.0 -
Unfortunately, I've got a 3-button remote so I'm not sure which would count as front and rear buttons.
Also, I don't have any bulbs/LEDs on the remote to check.
Ah well, back to google now I know what I'm doing wrong.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
