Fund Dividends

As some of you know (redbuzzard grizzly1911 gadgetmind) I was since early April dabbling in some investment funds. Namely IP High Income which I still hold, Marlborough Multi Cap Income, Newton Asian Income and UK Uncorn Income and Turkey and Japan.

I have cashed all but IP High Income in and I was wondering that although I cashed the others in with a financial capital gain am I also entitled to the dividend from these when the time comes or do you give up your entitlement to dividend when you bail out?

When I transferred an ISA to another provider, we had to wait a few months for all the dividend payments which came after the transfer so yes you should still get some of the dividend up to time of selling.

Funds have an ex-div date, provided you owned them on that day you will get the divs on payment date.
