All Skys Android apps have been hacked and replaced by a Syrian hacking group. Sky advise uninstalling them. Includes Sky News, Sky +, Sky Go and Sky wifi.

It seems more likely its the Twitter thats been hacked
even then. is it the apps or the Play store access? We are aware that the Android apps of Sky+,Sky News were hacked and replaced... please remove the apps if you are already installed it0 -
That thought had crossed my mind especially as the @Skyhelpteam has not appeared this morning, still better safe, and Sky's android apps are not on the Play store atm.
Follow the link from Sky and you get:-

Going by news I've read, the descriptions were certainly replaced by Syrian Electronic Army logos etc, so I would assume earlier downloads without any of this information would be fine, but those who downloaded it with that logo in place who knows if they have actually been compromised, or just had the descriptions fiddled with.
Who ever has the access to uploading files on Google Play will be looking for a brand new job pretty soon, same as those who probably decided on basic account security password etc.
It's up to you as to whether you remove for time being, even if you downloaded a while ago, no one seems to know what the new app (if it was even newly updated) would do, or whether it affects current older installed apps. I wouldn't risk it however
