Chargebacks urgent help needed

I am a Merchant and have been the victim of card fraud. As of yet they (Streamline) have NOT taken money back from my Business account... is there anyway I can prevent this ? It is around £7,000 and will put huge pressure on our small business. The only one to suffer will be us as the Credit card supplier seem to just take back what they want ? Can I instruct by bank to STOP any chargeback/payments and argue this out with the Card company ?

Even if the answer to that question was 'yes', then the result would likely be the termination of your merchant account.

You can dispute the charge back, but if you have no proof the authorised card holder made the purchase, then it'll fail.

If you request the bank to refuse to pay up, then Streamline will simply invoice you for the charge back amount plus costs when the transaction fails.

It's upto your to ensure only the original card holder authorises purchases, for example by opting in to VbV/MSC, doing address verifications checks, only sending goods to the card holders address, etc. These extras normally cost a little more than the basic card services, but help you prevent fraud.

OP Did you follow Streamline's terms and conditions completely when you took the payment?

You need to confirm that you did not take any shortcuts at all.

If you did follow all the T&C then you might have a case against the credit/debit card issuer.

    We need more details here.

As a retailer you should know you have a right to contest a chargeback.

But you will have to prove it was the cardholder that ordered the goods.

As someone who works on the cardholder side of things...

Retailers are the weakest part of card security. Due to wanting to provide goods without making further checks.

I have even spoken to retailers in a effort to stop them delivering goods. To be told... We thought it was odd they wanted it delivered to xx in xx....
So WTH did they not check further.
