red weeny spider things...
                    I have the weaniest red spiders crawling all over my patio and over my patio furniture! help! They are horrible and obviously breeding as there are really weeny ones and bigger weeny ones. I remember someone telling me they were a red brick spider (presumably they live in the bricks??). Can I do anything to get rid of them? Are the harmful?
Cheers

            They are probably red spider mites. They can be a problem for plants, otherwise I don't think they're any more harmful than anything else in the garden. I'd either squish them or use an organic pest spray.0

            No they are not harmful , dont really think there is anyway to get rid of them though.0

            Red spider mites don't like it damp or humid, hose the patio and surrounding area down last thing at night so it stays wet all night. Do it for a few nights running or wait for this rain which is on the way, the population should reduce.0

            If Red spider mite (less than 1mm in size) then best to treat with Phytoseiulus a predatory mite to ensure you eliminate the population or they'll come back! If they are larger than 1mm then are probably Red velvet or earth mite ~ 4mm in size, which are not a problem!
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
            Its coming up to that time of the year again, and this year I want to get rid of them before its too late.. I tried hosing down the house and garden in the evenings last year and it didnt really help, they were certainly around the next day.
I have read up on Phytoseiulus and although they look very interesting I would like to know how to get rid of these insects once the spider mites are gone.. Not much point getting rid of one, just to have another type.
So, has anybody used Phytoseiulus before? How do I get tid of them once the spider mites are gone?
Also, does anybody know of any other remedys that will kill the spider mites? I bought something from the garden center last year but it didnt make much difference.

            They will die off once the spider mites are gone.0

            If you can see them easily with the naked eye, they are not red spider mite.
Well...not unless you have really exceptional eyesight

We could see them, and even the fact that they had 8 feet, although they are not very big, small red dots (needle head size).. Wish I took a photo of them now for confirmation, but.

            sound like red spider mites.
what plants are in the vicinity?
how dry is the atmosphere?
 Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?
