How much a for Glasgow flat?

As the title really. I'm a student looking at renting on my own. I have an idea for others, internet will probaly be £25ish a month, and I get water free I think as it's included in council tax? (please tell me if I'm wrong, so hard finding clear answers :p)

I don't have any experience with this though so was looking for estimates? Will probably end up in a studio/one bed apartment, purposely not looking for anywhere too large. I'm gonna try for as many diy heat/energy saving tips/methods as I can though I will probably be turning it on in winter since it is glasgow, don't want to freeze or have a burst water pipe or anything.

I'll also hopefully be out quite a bit of the time, during the day most days at least.

Any ideas? Thanks for reading :)

I dont know about in Scotland but in England council tax and water rates are 2 seperate things.
As to the cost of energy a lot will depend on a number of things roughly in this order - does it have gas central heating (elec is more expensive), how well insulated is it, how hot you want to keep it (getting fully dressed and not walking around in just boxers is cheaper) how many appliances you use and for how long. The average cost is about £100 but obviously if you live somewhere small thats well insulated it should quite a bit lower than that. I would try and ask any mates that already live in the type of property you want to live in.

You are correct that you will pay your water rates with your Council tax. It will show the amount for each on your bill. You can then spread the cost over 10 or 12 months if you pay by DD.

Prices start at just under £300 a month for your rent. You will pay for the cost of water in your council tax. As for gas and electricity, depends on your usage.

But in Scotland students-only households do do not pay for water (or council tax).

If its a full time course, then yes, they will get an exemption.

Ive only claimed council tax exemption once, so forgot when I posted above.
