If a creditor asks a credit reference agency to remove information from your credit report, they will do.
It's just very unlikely that you'll get a creditor to agree to do that, but it has happened before, so it's not impossible. What will your verse be?

I have done exactly that before now, the smell of the money was enough of a lure...
...mind you, a default removed amongst 10....not really much help to me!!!I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

I've unfortunately paid off my debts in full so have nothing to bargain withTwo years to go now.
I asked O2 if they'd remove an old default as I've been a model customer with them ever since, but they said no.
I haven't tried asking for my Halifax default to be removed as I think they'll just say no as well. What will your verse be?

Hi, both me and my husband are trying to improve our credit ratings. My husband's is very poor with noddle scoring him 1/5 he has a default on his file from March 2011 so still has 4 years left. Is it likely this score will improve at all even with the default on his account
Yes, this score will improve. Lots of people have reported good or excellent scores with defaults recorded on their file. In many cases better than people with unblemished credit histories.
Sadly the score isn't worth the electricity it costs to see it, partly due to what I've just described.0 -
If you've got a bad credit Rating because of a Default or a CCJ, then consider following these strategies. They will work wonders over the months and years but patience is needed. This articles explains in more depth.
If your current credit file is in a bad shape, usually because of a Default and/or CCJ (County Court Judgment), and you have not been able to get it removed then the most positive approach is to -
* Accept the default/CCJ will be with you for 6 years (from the time it was issued)
* Then do everything possible to start improving your credit rating, and
* Start as soon as possible because time is very important0
