Incorrect CPA / CCA payment taken by Demon / Vodafone

Incorrect CPA / CCA payment taken by Demon / Vodafone
I have what I understand to be a CPA / CCA (Continuous Payment Authority / Continuous Credit
Authority) against a credit card to pay the monthly bill for my internet conection. Every month the
company, Demon (now Vodafone), send me an electronic bill and a few days later the amount is
automatically charged against the credit card. Fine until last month when the regular amount was
invoiced but exactly DOUBLE the amount was charged against the card.
Could it be anything to do with the change over last month from Demon to Vodafone I wonder?

Is my experience unique or has anyone else had the same problem (check your statements!)?

    Hi Krok414,

If this is something I can help with could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line. Once our automated reply arrives could you update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

    Hi Lee,
At the same moment you were replying to my post I was creating a Billing Enquiry to Demon/Vodafone by email. As our messages crossed, I wasn't able to include your code in the subject line.

Nevertheless, the email reference number for the automated response is: Enquiry [Billing enquiry] 00549895
There was also a [Payment query] reference number but I'm not sure whether I should be quoting this on a public forum?

If you need any more information, let me know.
    Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi Krok414,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I'm afraid I haven't been able to bring anything up from that reference.

Could you email me again with a contact number only at eforum.web@help.vodafone.co.uk? To make sure I get it could you quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and I'll get back to you as soon as I can?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Lee

I have replied to you cc your Customer Services team including the subject line:
FOR ATTN LEE at MSE WEB RELATIONS REF WRT135 - Case 00549895.

I have gone back over all invoices/statements for the last 12 months and tried to reconcile the dates of the debits against my credit card vs your invoices.
I have not been able to reconcile everything as it is not possible to be sure to which period some debits apply (e.g. the debit 12 Feb 2013). However it does appear that Demon/Vodafone are short by one debit (probably for March 2013) over this time. Therefore, provided future amounts are correct, this can be closed.

As I'm on a fixed budget, I check all the amounts on my statements and I think this issue has arisen because the Demon/Vodafone debits had gotten out of alignment with their invoices. Don't know what caused this.

    Many thanks for your attention.
