RBS Card Claim, Good Will Gesture

Hi,
I have lodged a PPI claim on my RBS credit card. Today I received a letter offering a payment as a "good will gesture" and that they are not admitting responsibility. On the back page however, they break down this payment as ppi paid betweent April 2001 and April 2002 plus interst minus tax. I still have the card to this day and I can't understand how they can offer a payment from 11 years ago and nothing for the following period. Interestingly they also state that I am still paying ppi on this account and that it will be cancelled if I accept the offer.
Has anyone else had any experience of this or any advice?
Thanks,
BJ
