    I agree to a point, it depends what you are claiming for though. In my example my uncle was claiming for a portable telly worth around £180, the excess was £50 and they said it would increase his premium by around £150. Had that been the main telly worth around £500 it would have been worth while as the excess and increase would still be the same regardless of the claim value. Its the same with all insurances really.
  • i paid £2800 for my tv i know it wont cost that to replace it now but i just cannot afford to go out and buy a new one
