I also need a new mower and the one from homebase seems good. It is self propelled which is good. I can't seem to find the one from the other site you posted. When you are storing a petrol mower in the winter don't forget to remove any remaining petrol. Apparently it is very bad for the machine. I once made that expensive mistake

I bought a Bosch rotak battery operated mower last year as recommended by Helen Yemm in theTelegraph. It is excellent and cuts well - not having a cord is great and you don't have to worry about petrol!

It looks good but quite a lot more expensive than the OP wants to pay. The mowers she has suggested are £170 - £180.

While it looks great I was under the impression that larger gardens needed petrol mowers.

We've burnt out 2 electric mowers in our garden.

I would prefer electric (& your cordless looks great) but I didn't think they were as powerful & therefor powerful enough?

May I suggest that you avoid the sheds for mowers, they are bought at a cheap price from national makers and are not as good as the normal version. EG we find the main mowers come to us for repair under warranty are the B&Q version of Mountfield. Keep with the local people and you will also find they are likely to assemble, test and advise on use.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
