Difference between missed payment, late payment and default payment.

Both late and completely missed show up as late payments. If you miss one payments then all future payments may end up being one month late, depends on the specifics of the account type and how it's handled by the creditor. If yo haven't done it already you might benefit from reading Experian's description of what a credit report contains.
