My contract says i am sales but my boss changed my job title to warehouse operative without telling me although i am still on sales, now one from sales has to be made redundant and even though am now down as a warehouse operative within the company i am up for redundancy. I have two questions is this allowed and what happens if i go and apply for sales jobs if they ask for a reference from head office i am down as a warehouse operative not sales

How have you found out that your job title was changed? Do you know why that might have happened?

If your job is really sales and there is a pool made up of sales people, then it would be fair for you to be in it. Your job title doesn't really change what you do.

If you are indeed a sales person and don't work as a warehouse operative at all, then it seems like a mistake as far as your revised job title is concerned. You need to take that up with your line manager and HR so that it can be corrected. Even if you do not lose your job from redundancy in the near future, you may well want a reference later.

Boss told me at consultation meeting,was changed last year to avoid redundancies it must have been easier to move me as my wages have never gone up to sales wages even though salespersons have come in after me they are on more money! More worried over reference letter
