That's a joke surely?
It actually makes sense, in a way.
Hot corners are a terrible design decision for a keyboard+mouse based system, even if they're ok on touch systems where people are accustomed to swiping in from edges to get to stuff, e.g. the notification area on Android. Keyboard + Mouse users just don't expect that sort of thing.
Now if you read in conjunction with my post above yours about corporate users and desktop icons. Retraining your users is now simply a case of telling them to click this huge windows logo in the bottom left, rather than the minimise button in the top right, if they want to get to their icons. It's a much easier change to manage.0 -

I don't think it's returning quite like that. It will appear when the pointer is moved to the bottom left of the screen, so its reemergence is really just a bit of fluff to reassure some of those who mourned its loss.
Probably for most users, the 'Metro' Start menu is just a full screen version of the old Start menu, but without the clutter that few use.
Many of things that are missing are available via a right click rather than a left click.
Like Lum, many people I know access everything via Desktop icons. The 'Metro' Start menu is a prettier and more standardised version of that, allowing them to dump all those icons.
Really folks, how much of that clutter on your Windows 7 (and before) Start menu do you really use? I know I'll regret asking that! :rotfl:0 -

That's only while you're in Metro apps. On the desktop it will be there by default, though they'll remove it on you if the system detects that you prefer to use the Windows key on your keyboard for that purpose

Or get them in to the habit of pressing the Windows button on the keyboard. I hardly used it before Windows 8. I think I only used it in combination with D to clear the screen previously.0 -
Easier said than done, believe me. Next you'll be suggesting getting people into the habbit of pressing tab after entering their username on XP so that they can enter their password without having to stop and use the mouse.0

Ah, that's a good move. I've got used to not having it. Going back to Windows 7, as I do occasionally, seems quite odd now.0 -
I regularly switch between the two as my brand new shiny corporate laptop has Windows 7 on it.. Finally rid of XP!
The main reason we're not going to 8 is that all our intranet stuff only just started working in IE8. It still breaks in IE9 or 10, Firefox, Chrome etc. That on it's own is a show stopper.0
