Decided to buy some boys size 7 Nike trainers on line from this company.
They arrived no problem, however despite my boy measuring 6.5 (SD don't do half sizes) the trainers were like boats on his feet and looked ridiculous.
I stupidly decided that I would try and change them at a local Sports Direct store.
I looked initially but couldn't find the stock. I then asked and found that they did stock the exact same trainer - brilliant..............NO.
They only had a size 7. So i then went to the customer services desk to ask if they could order a size 6 in for me............................NO we don't do that.
Okay then can I return these for a refund then please...................NO you can have a credit note.
I then explained that I didn't want a credit note as they didn't have the trainers i wanted......................would they find out where there was stock of the trainer i wanted locally? ..........................NO
I showed them the order paperwork which stated clearly that I was entitled to a refund...............................manager said NO......I had to return the item by post for a refund.
What a complete and utter shambles of a company...........with that service do you expect me to come back...............NEVER AGAIN.

Also, it does say on the returns page of SportsDirect.com where you can return goods to. In-store was not an option.
But yes, they are rubbish, there have been quite a few posts on here about them.

Um. Yes, they do. I've bought two pairs of trainers that have been 7.50 -

And that's where you went wrong.
Sportsdirect website says this:We do our best to ensure all of our customers enjoy a happy shopping experience with SportsDirect.com however occasionally you may need to return an item. You will find full returns instructions on the invoice which we send out with your order. Please fill out the necessary details at the bottom of your invoice clearly stating the reason for return and whether you require a refund or exchange.
You may cancel your order any time within seven (7) working days, beginning on the day after you received the goods. We will refund the price of the goods in full, however the delivery costs originally paid are non-refundable unless your entire order is cancelled within seven (7) working days of receipt of goods. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within thirty (30) days of the day you gave written notice of cancellation.
To cancel an order you must return the goods to us immediately. We try hard to accept all returns, returns don’t need to be in the original packaging. In the unlikely event that an item is returned to us in an unsellable condition, we may have to send it back to you. The goods are returned at your own cost and risk. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation. This applies to all goods that are returned. Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
If you return goods claiming they are defective, we will examine the returned goods and will notify you of your refund via e-mail within a reasonable period of time. We will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case within thirty (30) days of the day we confirm via e-mail that you are entitled to a refund for defective goods.
The manager was right and you were wrong.
The paperwork didn't show you were entitled to a refund if you took them back to a shop.
Return them by post - if you're not outside the time limit after faffing about trying to return to a shop.
Having said that, I agree with Caitlin_Bree about Sportsdirect, they're not great - but in this intance you were in the wrong by trying to return them via a method that wasn't open to you.0 -
Ive also found it rare that SD will have the same stock of trainers in as many as 4 stores in the sizes. Theyre very random with that but there again given the cheapness of their trainers its no surprise.Dont rock the boat
Dont rock the boat ,baby0
