Advice on scrapping/selling car
Hi,
I have an 8 year old Toyota Yaris with a semi automatic gearbox which has just packed in. I need a bigger car anyway, and due to a bit of rust and damage it's had for years after it was vandalised, I've decided to just sell/scrap the car. However, there are so many companies offering quotes when I do a search and I don't know who's a cowboy and who's not!!! Does anyone have any advice on good comanies or even if I should try and sell the car rather than scrap it? The car's always been well looked after and has only done 48,000 miles in 8 years so not too bad, it's just a shame about the damage to the bodywork as I know the car would be of greater value even with the gearbox packing in.
Thanks

I used them last week and was very happy. I got to choose which scrap yard in my area to use (as long as it was linked with them) and picked the one offering the highest price. turned up without phoning first, they took the car, handed over cash and e-mailed the destruction form within half an hour.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

So slightly different to mine. I had a cheque and a some paperwork , but the destruction form came in the post .......but as stated , money as agreed , time as said and ALL the paper work completed . DVLA took a couple of weeks.
Yes ebay may well get you more money , but you have to ask yourself is it worth it??0 -
I think you're right, I just want it gone off the drive now! I'll try the link you sent me, thank you!0
