In the first instance I'd suggest finding out exactly what they think the problem is, what they think they could do to fix it, and what they quote as the cost for this. Then post the information here to see what more knowledgeable people than I have to say about it...

For what it's worth, I thought the fuel tank sender unit was used to measure the volume of fuel in the tank, to then be displayed on your fuel gauge. I don't see how this could have anything to do with air getting into the fuel lines. But I am not a mechanic or any sort of car expert!

    Yeah, that's what I thought?

Will post back when I know more.

It's a Ren-Oh. You'd be better off getting rid of it to be honest. Granted you've spent so much on it now you might as well go the full hog and get it running and keep it but another time if its french and has a diamond on the front don't touch it! They're nothing but trouble on a good day and thats the pre2000 cars. Anything newer has a shorter lifespan than those.

If you want a good renault, get one of the old lagunas as they have the bullet proof volvo engine and gearboxes in them. They're 90s models so a bit old but you won't get let down by the engine, they will run forever (plus they're cheap and even if you buy one with a few faults for the amount you just spent you could have a solid car).

Failing that, german, japanese or anglo-american (ford) cars are better.
