It's not really a mild version of that, is it?0 -
First of all, I would check exactly how the Royal Mail describe your address. Go to this site http://www.royalmail.com/postcode-finder/, choose "find and address" (the default is find a postcode) , type in the postcode and it will give you all the addresses for that postcode. Copy that info into, say, a word document. It should be the correct address.
Next check your name on the electoral roll, getting a copy of how it appears and how the address appears.
Armed with these two, write to the errant credit reference agencies asking them for a "please explain" why they have your address showing differently to both the Royal Mail and the electoral roll.0 -

The credit reference agencies just get their info from the company doing the credit search - so if you give your address to a company as 'Flat A, 2 Housename etc' that's how they should credit check you and that's the data that the credit reference company should have. However, if you give your address as 'Flat A, 2 Housename etc' but the company checks you on '2a Housename etc' then they are at fault. Some companies take your postcode & your door number and fill in the blanks themselves.0
