We cant use our flights, have we lost everthing?

this happened to me flying with cathay pacific to hong kong couple of years ago...we booked our break in feb for october, i fell pregnant in march which would make me heavily pregnant going in october, after a lot of back and forth with the airline i was advise 2 options...claim on my travel insurance (was planning to buy that nearer the date)so that was a no go or out of goodwill on cathay pacifics part that they could put it a month ealier plus a payment of £200...that was the best they could do...so i had no option but to take the later option or loose out about £900. so we still went and dispite my swollen ankles we still had a great holiday. so may you could reschedual?

For the benfit of others reading.
You should take out travel insurance at the time of booking in case anyone in the party gets sick (or dies) before the holiday.

If you leave the insurance to the last minute then you won't be covered for things that may happen beforehand. This includes sickness, accident, death or serious illness of a close relative that you don't want to leave.
