new gas meter concern

I've had a letter from British gas saying they are replacing old meters, and mine is due in a few weeks.
This comes after I got them to refund the £160 my account was in credit, as my use was much less than their estimate.

I'm just suspicious as to the timing of the new meter, so wanted to know if anyone else has had similar letters recently.

I'm wondering if they think my meter is faulty.
Karma is a wonderful thing. ;)

I very much doubt a lower than expected reading would prompt them to change the meter, if they thought it was faulty they would just come out and test it. Meters are replaced periodcally as a matter of course.

I don't understand why you are concerned though, unless you suspect it is under measuring and are worried you'll have to pay for the correct amount of gas you use?

They would have fitted a tester meter if their was a query cardew is quite right if your meter has dials like a speedometer then it would be safe to assume they are updating to metric (digits)
