Dulux diamond eggshell streaky

Hi all
I have just put window boards and skirting boards in a room (MDF) and they need painting
I have used Dulux trade undercoat 2 coats and all was well.
I have bought Dulux Trade diamond eggshell as I want a tough finish.
It seemed very thick to apply and streaky now it has dried it is still streaky to the point of ridged to the touch.
anybody any ideas???. £40 for a tin of eggshell is a lot to waste, and I am worried it might happen with other types.

I had problems with Satinwood on Rads not drying after 6 weeks.
Had to sand it down, and start again, but, Dulux gave me £190 worth of paint for my trouble.including, Diamond Eggshell, which I haven,t used yet? suggest a phone call to them;0 -
Cheers for that
I have tried taking the paint back to B & Q they said they will have to speak to Dulux before they can refund.0 -
As it is water based it will not flow like oil based you will never get as good a finish. It needs thinning a touch before application and using a good quality synthetic brush to apply ie Purdy .I think your problem is partly due to application technique and the paint being applied to thick. You need to finish off with light strokes to try to level the paint .But to be honest the water based finishes still have a long way to go before there as good as oil based. Also it is not a good idea to use oil based undercoat and water based finish as the paint may separate as its drying0

Some people here are saying good things about Johnstones Aqua. Apparently it looks just like oil based gloss. I haven't used it, so perhaps they will post. But a search should find their comments.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

John, are you sure it,s Trade.Don,t try B&Q. phone Dulux themselves, I did, it,s their paint.I didn,t go back to Homebase at all;Cheers for that
I have tried taking the paint back to B & Q they said they will have to speak to Dulux before they can refund.
My first satinwood was from Homebase, but, the second, with vouchers from Dulux, was from their own decorating shops.
There,s a big difference.
They told me they make a seperate paint for DIY places like B&Q/Homebase.
They still refunded though, no quible, so complain, be suprised if you don,t get a voucher.Good that way, doesn,t sort your problem , like mine, but, my new paint TRADE, is ok.
Not using Homebase again.
Shouldn,t need to, Dulux gave me enough paint free for the forth bridge;
